Stop paying. If you set up an automatic deduction from your bank account, go to your bank and set up a new account but don't tell Primerica. Before you cancel the policy, apply for and have a different insurance company ISSUE a new policy on you.Sorry that you discovered the 'quality' of Primerica as a company after you took out a policy. Their products are overpriced and their plans are one size fits all. Did they ask you to become an agent and recruit everyone that you know?

Primeamerica continues to be one of the worst companies to deal with for insurance. Their way of doing business has never been in the best interest of the customer. You most likely just have to notify them (or stop paying).BTW: Don't limit yourself to regular term. 20, 25 or 30 year "certain" term policies have a lot to offer. My wife and I have policies that will extend past age 65 and will never increase in annual premiums. It's a great deal (for some).Look for low-load (or no-load) companies. if an insurance person is coming to your house…. it's costing too much. Make sure the insurance company is also "highly rated".

Why you would want to change I don't know. Why is your premium so high? Is there a health issue? If you go to someone else you will have your spouse and children separated onto their own policies- each costing about $75. The insurance is guaranteed renewable, as long as you don't increase at the end of the term. You stop making the premium payments. But I do not recommend switching. By switching to this "cheaper" term consider if theirs is Guaranteed Renewable- no health checks. Can they cover your spouse with only a rider? How about children? Will the one rider cover ALL children in the house, present and future? Primerica's does all of this. Ask your agent to quote you what it will cost to renew the term when this first one is over, then compare with other companies.

Stop paying it, and it will expire, but you will lose whatever you already paid.

You need to talk to your Primerica insurance agent about the insurance and see if he or she can help you lower your monthly premium.
