Go to your state's department of insurance website for information on how to get licensed. However, oftentimes if you talk with the company first they may offer assistance.After you get your license you have several options. You can try to get appointed with an insurance company. If you're able they will train you on their policies and may offer assistance. You can also work with an established agent as a producer. This way you can get your feet wet and see if you like it and may be successful without having to put out too much money. You should be aware that 95% wash out in the first year. Then you can find out where there is testing in your area, and schedule the test when you are ready.You can also got to the Dept of Insurance website as others mentioned for the information. First of all you have to look for companies that sell auto insurance. You have to be a licensed agent. In order to be a licensed agent a company has to sponsor you to take the test. You can either take a self paced course or attend a class for a week. Then you will have to take the test. Sometimes the company may pay or you may have to pay. So do your research. Start looking in the want ads for auto insurance companies looking for Sales Agents.

You go to the Missouri state insurance department website for the information you need to get your license. Then, the harder part, after you have your license, you have to find an insurance company willing to let you sell their insurance.
