If I buy a new car will my auto insurance run my driving record again?
My husband and I currently own a truck and have an exisiting comprehensive auto insurance policy in Texas. If we buy a new car (thereby removing the truck and adding the new car to our policy but not changing anything else) will the insurance company run his driving record again?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Generally speaking, the only time the insurance company looks at your driving record is when they are about to renew your policy.

If your replacing the new veh with the truck then they shouldn't. If your adding the new car as a second veh they may. Generally the only time they run your MVR is when your policy comes up for renewal. Source(s): Claims Adj

They may do that, which is one reason why it's smart to avoid getting tickets.
