Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Most Life and/or Health positions are commission only. Most of them are not in an office – but out in the field. If you also have Property & Casualty (autos & houses) then an office position at an agency is possible – and they often pay a salary – and sometimes salary and commission. If you're interested in Life insurance sales (no office) then I suggest:naadavies.comThey give you leads (people to sell to) and training if you need it & LOTS of support. It's where I started. I worked up a customer base & went out on my own – so I'm no longer with them, but it was a great place to start. I made approx $900/day with the Davies method. No – I get no commissions for sending you to them – I no longer work with them Source(s): Agent since 1999

They are paid a decent base, with a sales commission paid out as well. Often times, the salary will increase each year, but then eventually because your sales will increase too, the salary will stop at a certain level. You will find these jobs do provide benefits coverage, etc and you are free to manage yourself and work outside of the office too, due to the normal moving around that is required. All in all a good career path! And very routine, but yet dynamic due to the people aspect!Enjoy and good luck! Source(s): I was a recruiter in the past.

many times the companies will give you a small salary plus commissions. Over 18-24 months the salary will decline until it zero's out. By then the assumption is that your commissions will have surpassed the salary. It is a relatively good job. Just remember you are a sales person first and foremost. You job will be to sell and service.
