Best Answer – Chosen by Voters It actually would be covered under Comprehensive as it was a free falling object that hit the vehicle. But one would have had to opt for that under their policy. It is NOT part of the mandatory coverage one is required to carry for the state. If only liabitly, then there would be no coverage. Source(s): claims adj

If the meteorite did not have its own insurance then the cars insurance would have to cover it.
