Best Answer – Chosen by Voters I was talking to someone about the fact that I teach golf and he asked if I had my "PGA Card" and what certification I had to prove I could teach.My answer was: My certification comes from the smile on your face when you hit the ball straight.There is no bigger compliment than a smile from ear to ear on a students face once they hit the ball straight.The fact that you're trying to help some kids is a blessing. Enjoy the process. Kids have a short attention span. Little children need to have the location where to put their feet chalked. I've taught many a little one. Who would certify you as an instructor ? If you are doing this through a recreation department or an adult education program, you should be very knowledgeable,be able to point out faults and know how to correct them. No experience or certificate required.

You don't need to be certified. Who is going to stop you? Now if you charge them a bunch of money and it becomes a business it won't be a very reputable one without the certification.
