Just make him pretend the ball is a pinata at a party. Every time he hits the ball, give him a treat. Ritalin could be that very treat.Best of luck!

I really hope you're not serious. He is 3, he isn't going to care about standing around a huge lawn swinging a stick at a tiny ball on the ground and trying to get that ball into a tiny hole far away. Man, I had to yawn myself just typing that. There is nothing wrong with wanting him to enjoy golfing as you do, but you are starting too young. You have to wait until he is older and actually able to focus and understand what's going on and that golf is actually supposed to be fun. No child that young will be able to grasp the concept of golf. Your son is not the next Tiger Woods. In fact, if you continue to force him to play now instead of doing fun stuff with your child and being a father to him he will most likely hate golf…and resent you.

first of all, just cause tiger woods did it, doesnt mean thats your kids interest in life. what if your kid grows up to be in nascar? or a bull rider? or motocross? why dont you stop spending time trying to make him the next tiger woods, and pay attention to what the poor kid is interested in, and let him take lessons in that! i have two children, and their interests are strong with anything mechanic wise. i want my kids to be hockey players and in motocross, but that doesnt mean im gonna start them at 3 years old so they are professional before the age of 10! kids need to have fun and play, not be instructed to swing a club or put just right. if you are so determined for this, try taking your child miniature golfing, or teach Crockett, which is much more interesting.. so the kid gets the point of whats going on.

Though you will disagree, golf is boring (some say a waste of a good walk) and certainly a boy not even old enough for scholl will not be interested in this boring game. Do not even think about using drugs like Ritalin! And let him play games more appropriate to his age. Maybe when he is older he will be interested but not now, regardless of Tiger Woods.

I think you must be kidding around. I hope you don't give your baby medicine just to play golf. My son took meds for years for ADHD. I am sorry he had them because they seem to have affected his heart. Don't even think about something like that. If he's bored now, give him time to later like it. Those things aren't automatic. None of that three hours stuff, if you continue to do that, he will actually remember as he gets older and resent you and the game.

he is three….and if you push him he is gonna hate golf. just let him PLAY with you, as he gets older and WANTS to do better he will ask you to TEACH him. also, look up where a child is mentally at that age, and then adjust your training for where he is actually mentally capable of learning.

He is three years old and he is not interested in golf. Continue to force him to play a game he hates and mess up his childhood. One day he will be able to talk about it on the Oprah show.

Stop coddling that boy! Tie his favorite teddy bear to the back of the golf cart and grip a 9-iron over the bear's head during the lesson. Repeat "Focus, or the bear gets it," as often as you need to.

Why do you have a 3 year old at a golf lesson? Let the kid be a kid, hot everyone should be Tiger Woods and we should never treat our children like a celebrity

drug him up on ritalin and then also bribe him off with sweets. That kid needs to be pulled into line, you are just looking out for his best interests, wretchful selfish child.Sorry for his lots.
