Best Answer – Chosen by Voters the grass is the key.ask your local greens keeper what kind of grass and or seeds they use for the greens.he might even give you something to plant or at least tell you what kind to grow.then you need to cut it properly.

You are talking some serious money here to do it right. You are going to need an area that drains extremely well. This means drainage tile, a layer of gravel, a layer of pea gravel, a layer of sand, then a highly organinc mix of sand, soil, and peat moss for the subsurface. Then you need to get the grass…either bent, bermuda, poe, or whatever grows well in your climate. Then you need a mower that will cut the grass properly. Try to do it with a regular mover, you will either burn the grass or dig it up completely since it has to be mown so tight. Then you have to water the **** out of it, and hope it is graded properly so the water does not pool up, which will cause all kinds of fungi, disease, and other bad things to happen. Good luck. Buy a synthetic green.

plant a patch of specialised grass for the green (see link for advise from greenkeepers). Mow and roll often.Make sure the area is alright for other uses (you don't want cows swallowing lost balls, or horses galloping over balls hidden in long grass)Good luck, and you may want the one green approached from several tee areas to make it seem like mor than one hole Source(s): http://www.greenkeeper.cz/travni-smesi.p…

Mow a small round area as close to the roots of the grass as possible. Get a coffee can and sink it below the surface level .That is about as cheap as you can get without spending serious money and maintenance time.
