Best Answer – Chosen by Voters you may be swinging to hard for the shaft you have on your driver. If you swing harder then the driver shaft is designed for the club head can be coming through impact position late.

I had the same problem when I was on my high school golf team. My coach told me to weaken my grip and to stand closer to the ball. What I mean by weaken you grip if you don't already know is to turn your right hand (for a right handed golfer) so you can see more of you right thumb nail. This should allow you to turn over on the shot more so you can hit it straight or even with a little of a draw.

To simplify…Try swinging in to out meaning at the top of your swing should be a little more horizontal then usual and then sweep it through the ball and finish a little more pointin the club up at the finish Source(s): I had the same problem and now I either hit it really straight or have a slight draw.

By restricting your back swing and swinging from the inside out similar to Jim Fyruk. His is a classic example of a swing which takes the right side of the fairway out of play. Because he is so accurate he can drive on most any hole and be assured of having a second shot. Source(s): Golf driving statistics.
