Place it where the longer clubs are in the back as you are facing the cart. Also, be sure the bag is securely fastened in. I have had my clubs fall off (and I have seen other do it too) once the cart starts moving. If the bag has a putter well on the outside, be sure the strap does not imped getting the putter out easily.

So far good answers.A stand bag will need to have the legs inwards, the pockets on the outside, ready to get in and out (most bags should be put in the cart with the pockets pointing outside.) WRT the clubs, that would depend on how the member put them in – so if the putter is inside, and the legs are also, the member is not setting up his bag for cart use (s/he probably walks more.) I would ask the pro before moving them around in any way. Bags may also have belt loop to put the strap through. Lacking one, use the handle.

Why don't you ask the pro or assistant pro which way the members prefer their clubs placed on the cart. There are only a limited number of ways to place them on a cart.I prefer mine to sit side saddle where the pockets of the bag are parallel to the back bumper of the cart. The clubs are much easier to access as are the ball and clothing pockets.

The correct way is handle side out, so the cart strap can go through the handle to secure the bag. Regaurdless of the bag's skeletal system, this way ensures security and avoids the embarrassing bag spill when you take off.
