As a scratch golfer, obviously staying focused and having fun are the keys to success. I've always struggled with the mental game, so i decided to do some research on flow (also called "being in the zone"), and came up with Zen Golf. In Dr. Parent's book, he describes easy and simple ways to improve your golf game without even changing your swing. My low round before reading the book was a 69. The day after reading the book, I then shot 65 (one over the course record), and then a 67 the next. Ever since, my golf game has more trust, I'm playing more calmly, but most importantly, having alot of fun!

I guess I'm going to go against the grain here. I am able to manage my frustration fairly well. You're going to have days you don't play as well as you would've liked. I've not had an official lesson, but I've had a few people over the years that actually knew what they were talking about to give me a few tips for free. Parts of my game have gotten progressively better each year I've played. I've taken tips from Golf Magazine and Tiger Woods' book, "How I Play Golf" and done it on my own. Just keep pluggin' away.

Well, I also played the game with too much intensity and never could find the right comphy place.Until playing down in SC and hitting my ball into the woods, I came across a magical thought.I then invented a legally fat driver, and it provides the needed enjoyment to really understand what is important in life. You can find more about legally fat from FB Golf herehtttp://www.legallyfat.comI hope you find this helpful. With Abundance,Hitem Goode Source(s): http://www.460driver.com

After playing for so many years, one gets mad at himself for hitting poor shots but the game never gets frustrating. There are days when all the shots go right and the feeling is one of elation. The very next day every thing has vanished and there isn't a good shot to be made. Than is when you couldn't hit an elephant in the rump with a bass fiddle.Yes, it can get that bad.

im a 10 handicapper. ive always struggled with my driving but have a fantastic short game. now i can fade the ball and draw it at a consistent level. basically i can put the ball werever i want on the fairway! guess what? ive now lost my short game! it really is the most frustrating game i have ever had the pleasure of playing.

Golf never gets less frustrating, no matter good you get. I'm 4 strokes better than scratch and I piss and moan all day every time I play. But I love it!!!

on a scale of 1-10 inconsistency is an 11 in the frustration category.

I can have the worst day playing, and if I have a couple great shots or putts, its a beautiful day. gotta love it.

Golf to me is not frustrating but ive only ever played twice on the full course getting 54 over then 39 over and only 3 times on the par 3 course 38+,40+,32+ and despite these awful scores ive enjoyed it. Its a relaxing sport for me compared to tennis, cycling, triathlon which is the sports I play properly. In golf you can talk to youre opponent/playing partner in a friendly way and just enjoy walking the fairways and hitting the ball without getting too competitive.Maybe its only frustrating to decent players and as I play more and improve my game maybe ill start to get frustrated but for now its the most relaxing game I play.Getting frustrated happens cos you put too much pressure on yourself to improve and you need to remember why you took up the game in the first place to appreciate it and remember youre good shots/rounds to spur you on and if you keep trying and dont get down youll improve naturally.I went to the point where tennis wasnt fun for me as i was putting too much pressure on myself to win every match/ tournament and getting frustrated after every error or game I lost.but if you try to take it less seriously and just laugh it off when you hit the bunkers/rough and just see it as a little extra challenge you'll have more fun and going round with a mate helps it to be more fun too.Sports are hobbys at the end of the day which main purpose is to be enjoyed. you only live once and with work/school during the week frustrating you you cant let golf become a frustration as well.Fave player Jimenez's relaxed style is the best in my opinion as he gos round looking like he hasnt a care in the world and like he's having fun and yet still manages to lead the order of merit so hopefully youll get back into golf again and enjoy it more.Good luck.
