Im 16 and I want to start playing golf… where do I start?
I guess the first step would be finding a golf course nearby but what should I do first, try playing golf and see how I like it or schedule a lesson and try playing golf then?
Any advice is good advice

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Great I'm a new Golfer also, I don't have alot of money to hire someone to teach me. What I did was got my Brother in law to take me golfing during the week. It was great I learned alot.Then the following week I got another buddy to go with me I took him to a nice County club and we did great score was high but we played and no one gave us a hard time. you will need your own clubs see if someone can give you there old one or go to the pro shop at a local course they always have second hand clubs for sale. you ll also need a bag, balls. and plenty of drinks, Learn the rules of that course and also wear a collard shirt and nice khaki pants or shorts. Also remember that your just a new-by and if some one is about to get up on you tell them to play ahead!You will really enjoy the game. Play lots of different courses.Every course is different!

Get some clubs, garage sales are good for your first step, then go to your course and start with the range, you can pay the pro to give you lessons, to get you started. Then start golfing. Once you are comfortable on the course, then seek professional lessons, and club upgrades.

ok first step definitly has to get some golf clubs of course and hitting the driving range for a while. Before even thinking about hitting a course u have to establish ur swings and the forms and just form some good muscle memory. also get some books. idk if u need lessons but they couldnt hurt at least get a mentor maybe ur dad or something. and after ur swing mechanics can become the last thing on ur mind hit the golf course. U could probly acomplish this in 2 or 3 weeks if u keep at it

hey its awesome that u want to play golf i guess thats ur first step. if u know anyone that plays golf even if u dont know them really well u should ask,maybe a great chance to meet a good friend. if not u can get a tutor. go to a driving range with a range and putting area and if u dont have clubs see if theyll rent u some. some places do that not all. get to know the basics of golf and then practice practice and then go play
