Congratulations! Golf is a great game, I love it. First, I would check out some videos on youtube. The first thing you need to learn is how to grip the club: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmK07gRcV…The proper stance:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIbk2oR5B…Then, some basics about the swing:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nptT3XLi9…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7LFzYB5Q…Search around there are a lot of videos. Then I would go to the range and see how you do.If possible, go with someone who plays golf and can teach you some basics. If you have some $ I would recommend a lesson. Even the pros take lessons regularly. It's a lot of information. Try to keep it simple at first. Don't try to stuff your brain with every little detail. Concentrate on the grip and the proper stance and ball position, from there, turn your hips and let it fly.Best of luck, I hope you have fun with it.

I could give you a long list of how to play, why golf is a great game, and bunches of books and videos…but…just make it easy on yourself, and see a golf professional, take lessons, and practice! Source(s): golf teacher

This might sound stupid but… Golf for dummies from McCord is pretty darn good. It also comes with a DVD and it is basic but useful stuff for beginners. Very practical and easy to understand.

Well, you should probabaly go to a site that has the golf basics, but go to the driving range. Just hit around to get a feel for your swing and all that. Then get some lessons ASAP.

If you can get a lesson from a PGA teaching pro that's the best way to get started. Then play. At your age, you'll have more fun on par 3 and executive length courses and they don't cost a lot to play. If you play on a full size course, don't be uncomfortable playing from the front two sets of tees to make the course shorter and more fun. The key to golf when you get started is having fun with friends. Driving ranges are good – every sport requires practice. But just pounding away at balls can be dull and take the fun out of golf. Play, and if you enjoy it, go to the range and work on something that will improve your play results

If you want to be good at golf and are going to be serious about it go to a personal instructor. Go to videojug.com to learn the basics. Great website, watch videos by Rickard Strongert, great teacher.
