What are some drills and activities i can use to teach kids to play golf?
I'm running a golf school for kids ages 8-12, who for the most part have never played before. I have a group of about 6 kids for 2-3 hours a day. I have limited space, however I have a golf net to hit into, a small pond to chip into, and possibly a putting green. I want to help them learn etiqette, rules and how to hit but also I want them to have fun, because they're just beginners. Any ideas on games, activities, drills or competitions I could use would be great.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Have a longest putt contest or the closest to the pin contest. also longest drive!What you said was excellent Have fun! I love it. I take my soon to be 4 year old with me once a week to the driving range and she hits with a driver about 20 yards and all she knows is that she is having fun with daddy. I just tell her to keep her feet on the ground she loves to pick up her feet. I also tell her to just relax and have fun. I really think what your doing is excellent! Keep up the great work.

ok i help run a golf school for kids 6-18 and we have four classes—-we use the putting green a lot..we pick four holes and on the first hole we put the marker 5 feet away on the second hole we put the marker 8 feet away on the third hole we put the marker 12 feet away and on the fourth hole we put the marker 15 feet away our rules for that is that you cant be short and you cant 3 putt but since the kids havent played before then you could do a contest to see who gets it in the hole and finishes in the least strokes. Another game we do is…closest to the hole…you do it one at a time and u putt from about 20feet away. and u can just find some prizes such as balls or headcovers or stufff like that to give to the winner. we have a bag of tees and a ball divot tool for the winner and they like it just as much as they would the other thingAlso teach them how to chip ……. just another closest to the hole game and chip.. at the end we give every kid a few colorful tees in a bag so they wont leave empty handed ..IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER IDEAS THEN EMAIL ME ATalysntx@aol.com YOU WILL HAVE TO TELL ME WHAT IT IS FOR : SAY THAT THIS IS THE PERSON FROM YAHOO OR WHATEVER LOL…THANKS AND I HOPE THIS HELPS GREATLY !!!!!
