Best Answer – Chosen by Voters I knew of a range that did this several years ago that drew a ton of traffic. Have a periodic (weekly or monthly) closest to pin or hole in one contest. If you have the funds to offer a huge prize for a hole-in-one contest then go for that. If you don't have the funds, check with the local car dealerships or other local businesses that would be interested in sponsoring the contest and putting a huge prize up there. If you can't get a huge prize, then offer something like a new set of clubs or maybe a high-dollar driver for closest-to-pin.Say you do a monthly contest. For that month, when people buy buckets of balls, you offer them a special ball that will be a different color than your typical range balls and you'll mark these with special numbers. They pay $1 for the special ball and they can buy as many as they like. For each day, you take the 5 closest balls to a designated flag and declare the people who hit those balls to be qualified for the hole-in-one or closest to pin contest to be held one day/night at the end of the month. Then you post those names in your counter area. To drum up more publicity, post them in the local paper. Then on that day/night at the end, all the qualifiers show up and take one shot at the designated flag. The closest gets the prize. Or the 5 closest gets prizes. If you do a hole-in-one contest, you'll want to have smaller prizes ready because the chances of the actual hole-in-one happening are slim. So then if nobody does hit the ace, you can give prizes for the top 5 closest. But the fact that they have to qualify through the week or month is what creates the traffic. Because people will come out and practice more if they know they can just spend an extra $1 and get a chance at something big.

Maintain the grass as best as you can. Keep good care of the chipping green as most of the ones I've practiced on are lousy.Ofcourse it would always help to hire as many good looking women as possible.

Target greens, not much point hitting balls into space.

Have well marked greens to aim at.Have clearly marked distances indicated. Have the range facing either north or south because east and west will put the sun in your eyes at some time of the day.Mats a good for beginners but are hard on the hands. Have some tee boxes with grass.
