What brand of golf putter should i get?
What brand of golf putter should i get?
I've been playing for a few months now, (ive been using my dad's clubs) but now ive decided i want to start getting my own clubs, one at a time. Im planning on getting used ones from play it again sports or whatever. I just dont know which brands/models i should look for. I'm open to try any kind of club (different grips lengths etc.)

The absolute worst thing you can do is look for advice on the internet about something as personal as a putter. It's like asking people what your favorite meal should be. Your swing, stance, height, skill, grip, swing path, and personal preference for things like scoring lines and size all have a bearing on which putter is BEST for YOU. Go to a golf shop and start rolling putts on the practice green. Find putters that are accurate for you, and you find best for hitting specific distances. This is something only you can decide. A $300 putter that does not fit your or your swing will not make more putts than a $50 putter that does fit you. It's that simple.

It is not about "Brand". Putters are among the most personal preference driven of any of the clubs. Almost all the common name brands are of high quality. There are 4 simple things that you need to know; do I like the look of the putter (blade, mallet, etc.), is the design heel and toe weighted for forgiveness, what is the Loft, it needs to be the right length and it needs to have the right Lie (level with the ground at address). it kinda matters what the price range is. if you are looking for a really good putter it might cost you a lot, if you dnt get an oddysey. Oing and titleist putters are very good. i you are lookng for a cheap one the new cleveland classic putters are very nice the classic one is a nice one. if you like blades these bands will work.

The putter should do the following…look good to your eyes…pleasant looking…It doesn't matter how much you pay for a putter…if you do not like the way it looks, your mental attitude of negative thoughts, will hamper your capabilities.The moment of test swinging – there should be a presence of weight in which, you can feel…like a pendulum. If the putter is too light, you will not be able to develop a consistent tempo. Too heavy, and you loose your ability to adjust the pressure that is required to move the ball in a predetermined distance. The ball…Since putting is the most overlooked aspect of scoring, this is where you need to at least, give yourself a chance to do well.When you practice putting…the frekkin ball should read your mind…I kid you not…you say, this ball needs to go this far…you putt, and yes…the ball did exactly what you felt to be that distance…you putt again, your say, this ball will be 4" shorter than the last…bam…it did so…that is what your looking for!…it does not matter if it is a unknown or unpopular ball…the fact is…you have found the right combination that got you to a certain distance…what more can you ask for?When it comes time for you to actually put your putter in play…there will be a world of difference in feel…you will say to yourself…what happened? where is that judgment that was so ever present at the store? it is still there within you…you have to be within that mindframe, as if you were at the golf store, where you found your putting stroke…Take your time shopping…as if your chosing a girlfriend…there are many out there…but, there will be "the one" that gets you to the hole in the fewest strokes.
