Best Answer – Chosen by Voters easiest way to get rid of a hook. to days grips are to thin. you will find higher ball flight, lighter grip pressure, much improved wedge play. at the very worst slight fade. increased accuracy. 2 shots a round. possibly more. Source(s): old guy

Not sure specifically which Winn grips you're referring to but when you say "soft", I think they might be the one's that almost feel like like the grip of a tennis racket (the 5715 spiral wraps). I've seen these grips on Wilson clubs. You are right, they do feel soft and (if they're the ones I'm thinking of) very tacky. However, these grips do not last very long before they end up feeling pretty slick. They need to be replaced more frequently to preserve that soft tacky feeling. Go for midsize grips if you want but I'd consider some of the Golf Pride grips (Tour Velvet or the New Decade Multicompound).

By midsized I'll assume you mean larger than a normal grip. With a mid-size grip you will be less likely to roll your wrists as much as you would with a smaller grips and therefore reducing the chance of a hook or even a snap hook. If you hit a fade you may not like the result.
