Best Answer – Chosen by Voters It is good that u hit the ball well and hit greens in regulation… I feel it is all about the short game and being able to place the ball where u want it to be. Most people can't chip/pitch and are lousy putters. Make sure ur short game is on the mark and u will see ur scores drop dramatically…

Sounds like you're on your way to being a solid golfer. If you are hitting most greens in regulation, yet you are still a 10-12 handicapper, my advice would be to work hard on your putting. From the info you provided, my deduction is that you are making 50 to 55 putts per round. This is a clear weak spot. So, spend your time practicing say, 70% to 30% putting to irons and drives. There are some other things you can do as well, get yourself a good golf gps unit to improve your club selection. Try getting fitted for clubs to make sure that your striking the ball as best you can. But again, if you are on in regulation most of the time, the obvious solution is to work on putting. 1. Put on some weight.2. Repetition Repetition Repetition – especially in your short game.My club's pro thinks that I've been blessed somehow in terms of golf (I've gotten down to a 4 handicap in less than 2 years of golf), but I've found that repetition is what got me there. Like everyone, I started all over the place and stayed there for awhile, but I kept with it, practicing a ton and I've gotten to where I am now. When it comes to the scholarship, I'm pretty certain that you've got to be a scratch golfer to get one, but you could always try to walk on.

its scary how much your description matches me. take some lessons if you can, try to work out some, but not to the point where you're all muscle and have no flexibility. practice putting whenever you can, it makes up a big portion of your shots when you shoot that low. im sure you've noticed that you have great rounds when your putting is dead on. you can get a golf scholarship if you bring your hc to single digits, just try to get noticed in tournys. good luck.

eat a little bit more because you are pretty skinny if you are 6'2 and weigh only 160, that'll get your drives up to 300, but on a serious note try to work on your putter a little bit more because if you hit the majority of girs and you are a 10-12 handicap you dont make very many 1 putts
