Best Answer – Chosen by Voters I started golfing a little under 2 years ago. At first, I had a beginners set of woods and irons. After about 6 months, I started upgrading the woods 1 at a time. I bought the Cobra LDM series except my 9 wood and it is a Lynx. I would suggest that you go to a golf store and hit a store brand or ask if they have used set if you don't want to spend a lot of money right off. Get the woods that you hit best. Try before you buy regardless of brand.

Buy cheap ones if you're a true beginner. If you get 1000+ dollar set then you might end up screwing it up if you keep hitting the ground or the top of the ball. After your swing is stable then save up min 1000 bucks. For beginners you can basically use any driver. You're going to eventually buy expensive ones when you get decent so just buy a beginners set and you're set for a year or so.

Borough a few clubs from a Friend and go get to the range. once there a pro can help you with your swing. The best club for you is the club that fits your swing the best. You don't need to spend lots of money on a name brand. If you go to a range with a pro shop they might have a used set that will fit you and your pocket book. Start easy and keep working through the tough times.
