On the PGA tour, the standard caddie contract pays $1000 per week plus 5% if outside the top 10, 7% in top 10, 10% for a win. That means that there are probably a lot of caddies earning $100,000 or more. However, I would doubt that many LPGA caddies earn over $100,000 since the golfers dont make nearly as much as the PGA tour players.

Generally it's about 10-15% of the golfers prizemoney, therefore if you're caddying for an average pro golfer who earns $400000 a year the caddy will get between $40000 and $50000. If you're Tiger woods caddy you're talking millions!Ask him what his golfer earned in a year and work out the 10 – 15 percentage.

Once I met someone who was a caddy and he told me he was making around 500 a week, in a regular week with non professional players. He told me that the average caddy earns pretty much like a waiter in a fine dinig restaurant(around 700 a week). By the way, he was living in a motel paying 20 bucks a day. There is where I met him.

depends who you play for, Steve (tigers caddy) made over a million each of the last two years…it is generally a percentage (agreed on by contract, perhaps 5 to 10 percent) of the players golf course earnings while on the bag…

Your PGA guys make ridiculous sums of money. They take something like 5% of tournament winnings. Which means a caddy for a major golfer makes a lot of money.

I think the standard is 10% of the golfers winnings. I'm not sure if there's any kind of base salary but there probably is. It's a good question that I've also wondered about. Remember they have to pay all their benefits out of their own pocket. Travel and stuff too maybe

This month's Golf Digest list the cost to be a pro golfer. One of the expenses is paying your caddy. It varies by player, but for the most part they get a weekly salary plus a percentage of winnings. It looks like most players pay 5% for out of top 10 finishes, 7.5% for top 10 and 10% for top 5 finish. That could amount to a lot of cash.

Many times it is based upon a negotiation between the player and the caddy. For instance, a new caddy with a young inexperienced golfer may have a base + 5% While an experienced caddy (5 plus years) may make a much higher base with a 10% cut. 10% is usually the marker for a caddy who's player is appearing in most of the events. The base is usually fairly decent for many caddy's working for newer tour players due to the lack of guaranteed income by not making the cut. Of course PGA makes more than LPGA and Nationwide tours due to higher purses. Source(s): Golf Editor, Affluent Magazine
