What is the average Golf Drive for a 18 year old male?
I was at the driving range yesterday, for only the second time in my life.
I was consitantly hitting them over 200 yards and a few that cleared the 250 mark. Is that good?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters There is no such thing as an AVG. That has been compiled. However I would say you are striking the ball extremely well for a beginner.

i am 18 years old and I am hitting the ball 280 to 330 but i hit a huge slice ninety percent of the time so if your hitting them consistently then dude it really doesn't matter what you do. its up to you with what you think is average if your happy with the 250 then have at it. i am so un consistent with my driver its not even funny so atleast you have that much goin on and then the fact that its your second time in your life i have a ? for you how much are lessons hahahaha

im 13, and hit it 260 usually. But for a beginner, thats pretty good. If you liek it, i think you have potential. Work on your mechanics with a pro, and you will probably 300+ because it looks like you can hit the ball. Once you work on mechanics, go to putting and short game, sometimes golf isnt about distance, so you need to work on that. Once your done with perfecting your short game, you could be a pretty good golfer.

i'm 13 and i can drive between 250 and 300 but ive been playing since i was 11, but your doing great if youve only been twice… if you mork on your swing a little more then you will start hitting it farther and farther, i would say that there isnt really an average but it depends on your expirience level, maybe an average of 280??? idk im just guessing

first of all, you shouldnt care each is own and driving distance does not prove score. second its the driving range you cant tell $hit from distances so you most likely hit it a bit farther then you did on the range so who knows how far you hit it

You are driving very well and I suspect that most average amateurs do not achieve drives of 250 yds.

For a completely amateur golfer, that's pretty good. At 18, I was routinely hitting them between 250 and 300, but I went more than twice in my life up to that point
