Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Golf balls can be virtually any color in the rainbow. Ping use to make 2 colored balls…I have not seen them otherwise in quite a while. The only advantage I can think of is that it will help you identify your ball more easily I would think

I don't know the legalities but multi-colored balls make for easier identification. It's a lot easier to tell which one is yours.

I would say that it's to help you better identify your ball. Generally females use different colored balls (pink, orange). I have heard that it's not considered manly to use anything other than a white ball.

Usually they are used in practice rounds, so that players can differentiate between who hit what ball and where it landed. In professional and club play, only white balls are allowed…especially during tournaments.

The are usually used during putting practice to show if the ball is struck correctly. The ball is placed so that it's half-half is pointing up…like at 12. When the ball is struck, the opposing colors show if more momentum was placed on either side of the ball.
