In the following order:1: Driving Range until you can hit ball 2: Pitch and Putt until you are hitting ball fairly well and consistent3: Local Municipal until you are scoring decent (I suggest 4+ Net Pars in a round)4: Private Course (Make a day of it – Have a spot of brekkie, a meal afterwards, you'll love it)In-between do the following excersises:Go and watch a pro tourney, it will make you feel terrible about your own game!!!Have a lesson or 20!!Go to your local Golf Shop and try the latest kit.Good Luck and enjoy it.

I would recommend you start at a driving range equipped with a putting green. One gains the most in the short game. Start with the putter & try to get a feel for distance and direction. Don't hold the club to tight. Once you fell comfotable here, it's much easier to move to the range. Start out hitting a nine iron & just concentrate on swinging smooth & making good contact. Move to the lower numbers as you feel more comfotable. Once you've done this a few times, if she still wants to hit the course, try a 9 hole course. This allows you to play with less experienced players & they're usually more open. It won't be much fun if you're taking 9 or 10 strokes on each hole and holding up others. Strive for only 3 or 4 shots over par on each hole & pick up your ball if you get higher. You can always move to the green & take a few putts after 5 or 6 in the fairway. Otherwise you can get discouraged & upset those behind you. You both want to have fun together & enjoy this time. It's more fun if she doesn't get discouraged & you don't get upset. Also in golf it doesn't require a hard swing like baseball. A smooth easy stroke works the best with a light grip. Good luck on your game Source(s): Golf Magazine & Jack Nickolas on golf

The driving range is a good start. If you can find a course where there is little play late in the afternoon you could play a few holes without worrying about holding up the regular players. Try 9 holes. Make sure she plays the forward tees. You could also play the same tees with her just for fun. Have fun.

Have you got a pitch and putt course near you? Its a great fun way of testing golf skills. Alternatively try a pay and play golf club that has a 9 hole as well as an 18 hole course. Use the 9 hole as it will probably not be as busy as the 18 hole. If you are in the South of England there is a course in Fareham just off the A27 on the road out to Portchester. I think it is Cams Hall Estate Golf Club. The 9 hole is more country than its 18 hole links course. The 9 hole is also fairly flat making for an easier game. The ladies tees used to be quite kind to the beginner. I have not played there for a while but a Sunday afternoon was always quiet. Good luck and I hope you enjoy yourselves wherever you end up playing.

The Range. Go to the range no less that 5 times before you even try to play golf on a real golf course. Practice pitching and putting too. When you do go to the golf course, take someone with some experience. Seriously, there is etiquette involved in the game someone must teach you. You must keep up, and play in a timely manor. Double par and you are done, pick up you ball, move to the next hole. You will have a good time if you do it right, if not you may get hurt. Good luck

I started going to the driving range first then had some lessons, you will need lessons eventually as they do help you learn the correct way to play.

go to the range and executive courses until you keep up with the pace of play. Then go back to the range. to get better. The range is the place for her until her drives go at least 150. Good Luck

Try a par 3 golf course!!! Those are fun. My wife has taken only a few lessons. She doesn't hit the ball very well but understands a little about the swing. She's been to the driving range for a little practice but she had sooo much fun playing at a pitch and putt golf course!

A little par three course would be a great place to start. SHorter clubs are easier to hit, so it wont be nearly as frustrating for her. Also, they are easier to walk, quicker to play, and more of the golfers out there would be closer to your ability level. You guys will be much more comfortable out there.
