I am not sure of the longest continuous of one tournament, but I would think the Firestone has been around as long as I can remember (early 1960s) and hasn't changed sponsors. But then again there is probably some whiskey company that has run a tournament in Scotland for hundreds of years.

No I think its just the tournament itself. The sponsorship can change but the tournament still stays the same tournament. For example, it is actually the "Phoenix Open" but when a sponsor comes its called the "FBR Open". The tournament has been around for around 75 years but the name FBR Open for the tournament has probably been around 10 years or so.
