Because they haven't grown up on soccer , basically you can say any sport is boring if you don't like it. Its just dumb opinions anyway, People in the USA watch baseball, golf, tennis, and nascar and those are all popular sports in america, but how someone can call soccer boring in comparison to those sports is beyond me.Its just really favortism to there sport, everyone wants there sport to be the best so the best way to make there sport better is to knock down the other sport. Its all childish and dumb, Just watch what you like and SHUT UP.lol

Americans don't have a clue about boring sports!Gridiron is a 1 hr game that lasts 4 hrs, baseball lasts forever and as for hockey and basketball?At least football (soccer) only lasts 90 mins!

Americans know golf. We use golf for leisure and for business. Unfortunately we really are not educated about soccer, which is why no one really cares about it.

I don't know I don't like Golf or Soccer. The only sport that I like to watch is Tennis.

All americans know what golf is. They all know who Tiger Woods is. There is no football star with the same status as Tiger Woods, except for maybe Beckham but he isn't even American. Don't worry, no one but golf fans think that golf is really that exciting. The only reason they spent so much time on golf today is that the PGA is a major championship. Otherwise they wouldn't spend as much, although sometimes still more than futbol, which is wrong because futbol is much better!

The media probably says that its boring so the public will believe it. They try and Americanize everything, and if soccer were to take off on a large scale I doubt that they could succeed in Americanizing it.It's America what do you expect. It is probably the most psychotic nation on the planet.

It's because here kids are grown up learnign about American Football, Baseball, and bastketball. They don't have much exposure for the sport here, because quite frankly they don't have enough viewers. it is ahrd to try and make a sport grow, when nobody has any knowledge about it… I took a test in my English class recently, and one question said the WC was held every year. It made me so mad, but that is how soccer is here. I would also appreciate it if people would stop calling America names, just because most of it's people are ignorant to soccer, because some like me know a lot…

because everyone is america plays golf. when they see it on tv they can relate to it since it's really hard they admire the pros. u think the average american can relate to making a pk in a big league stadium? regular joes can play on pro courses.

Golf is a big leisure activity in the USA for all ages. The reason people think soccer is so boring is b/c there is not much scoring at all and the tricks, like one of the people said above me were so great, just look stupid and easy to sniff out. Besides, Tiger winning his 13th major is really important anyway. I could see why ESPN would spend so much time on it. People in America just don't care about soccer, but they do about golf.
