Im 15 and a rising sophmore and i hope to make jv golf this year at my school. I have just finished my last season of baseball, which had caused me to take a 4 month break from golf. I hit at the range for the past 4 days and played a round yesterday in which i shot a 46. I can drive about 230-240, but my short game is where my problem is. I cant hit my wedge. Any tips on my pitching and/or making the jv this year??

I'm trying to refine my swing but don't want to break the budget. Any suggestions?

I am searching for way to add distance to my golf game. I am currently having trouble reaching par 5's in 2 and make GIR with long par 4's. Here is a break down of my distances for every club in yard. note: this is not ball carry; it's from where i hit to where the ball stops.

Driver: 240
3 wood: 210
4 hybrid iron: 180
5 iron: 170
6 iron: 160
7 iron: 150
8 iron: 140
9 iron: 130
Pitching wadge: 120
Approaching wadge: 100
Sand wadge: 70

Although these numbers are average, they should represent well my current game. I'd like to add more info about myself: I am male, 24, 5'10, 180lbs. People always told me I should have the potential to reach most par 5 in 2. But so far, despite hitting the ball solidly, i have yet to reach a 500 yard plus hole in two.

I am just starting to golf and was at the driving range today hitting with borrowed clubs. I was using a 1 wood and after the second swing, the club head broke off and went about 40 yards. Is this normal, or did I hit the ground or something? I was scared to hit a driver after that and just stuck with the irons. I'm kind of scared to hit another driver. Is it that easy to break them? Do I just need to be a lot more careful? Thanks.

I was looking at my golf shoes the other night and noticed that a lot of the spikes towards the toes of my shoes were broken off. I have the Softspikes Pulsar Fast twist spikes currently in my shoes. If the front spikes break, should I replace all the spikes or just rotate the ones from the back to the front and continue that process? How often are new spikes recommended?

Would my golf clubs get damaged and/or break if I played during the NY winter weather? (I can't afford to fly to warmer climate states so I'm stuck here for now until spring comes along)

I'm looking to buy my first set of golf clubs tomorrow. I don't want to spend an incredible amount, but I also don't want the clubs to break when i try to hit the ball and accidently swipe the grass. Any tips on what I should be looking for when I go to Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods tomorrow and try holding some clubs and irons in my hand?

PS: I plan on playing at least once a week.
