How difficult is it to rival a life insurance claim?

My father informed me that he wanted to make me the beneficiary of his life insurance policy 11 days before he passed away. He did not have a chance to make the update with MetLife. So, my step-mother is still listed as the beneficiary and all I have as proof that he wanted me to be the beneficiary and NOT her is an email that he sent to me. We live in Arkansas and I am my father's only child and closest living relative.
What are my chances of getting the money?

Can an auto insurance company deny a claim?

I had an accident last week for which I was not at fault. The police department clearly agreed with me and they gave the traffic ticket to the other driver for reckless driving. I filed a claim with the other driver's insurance company and they say they are investigating the accident. I asked how long it would take for them to fix my car and they said that if they thought they were responsible they would pay for it, otherwise they would not cover the costs of repairing my car; which are pretty elevated. Can they do this? I have a police report which clearly states that the accident was not my fault. What should I do if they deny my claim?

Okay I was in an accident. And it was my fault so I let the other person call their insurance company and give them my info. But this was like a week ago and my company still says there has been no claim reported. I thought that if it was your fault, you could just let the other person call their company, and that company would contact your insurance company… is this how im supposed to handle this? what should I do?
